With corrugated metal walls, neon signs, oversize tables and TVs, the retro-styled restaurant is a sort-of modernized 1950s diner meets biker bar.
The fare is all-American — burgers, fries, hot dogs, ribs, cheese steaks and breakfast served anytime — and sourced from quality vendors, including Pat LaFrieda hormone- and antibiotic-free burgers.
“Lucky’s take on burgers — and everything else — is very simple: Use the highest quality meats and hopefully cook everything just right,” co-owner Jon Katz said.
One of the more popular items is Lucky’s Philly cheesesteak, which comes with your choice of cheese and toppings, including home fries or French fries with gravy.
“It tastes like down the shore,” customer Rob DeLorenzo said of Lucky’s cheesesteaks. “I love the flavor and the portions are a good value for the price.”
“We strive to stand out from fast food and other casual theme restaurants,” co-owner Katie Yezefsi said. “We do that by keeping higher standards for quality and customer service and offering a greater variety of options.”
Lucky’s new location is 1218 Main Avenue in Clifton. The original Lucky’s Steak Plate at 18-50 River Road in Fair Lawn (near the Maple Avenue Bridge).
